Administrative Departments Section 256F(b) Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 89A be and it is hereby added
to Article 41 - Governor-Executive and Administrative
Departments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) to read as
follows: Article 41 — Governor-Executive and
Administrative Departments 89A. (A) (1) EVERY BUSINESS ASSOCIATION THAT IS AWARDED A CONTRACT BY, OR ENTERS INTO A LEASE OR OTHER AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OR ITS AGENCY UNDER WHICH THE
BUSINESS ASSOCIATION IS TO PAY OR TO BE PAID AN AMOUNT IN EXCESS OF $10,000, SHALL FILE WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE, WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT
OR AGREEMENT, A LIST THAT CONTAINS THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF: (A) (1) EVERY BUSINESS THAT ENTERS INTO CONTRACTS, LEASES, OR OTHER AGREEMENTS WITH THE STATE OR ITS AGENCIES DURING A CALENDAR YEAR UNDER WHICH THE BUSINESS IS TO PAY OR RECEIVE IN THE AGGREGATE $100,000 OR MORE, SHALL WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE TIME WHEN THE AGGREGATE VALUE OF THESE CONTRACTS, LEASES OR OTHER AGREEMENTS REACHES $100,000, FILE WITH THE SECRETARY OF STATE A LIST THAT CONTAINS THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF: (I)           ITS RESIDENT AGENT, IF ANY; (II)        EACH OF ITS OFFICERS, IF ANY; AND (III)     ANY           PERSON             INCLUDING              AN
INDIVIDUAL, CORPORATION, TRUST, ESTATE, PARTNERSHIP, AND
OTHER ENTITY WHO IS THE BENEFICIAL OWNER OF 5 PERCENT OR
MORE OF THE CONTRACTING BUSINESS ASSOCIATION,OR 5
PERCENT OR MORE OF THE STOCK OF A CONTRACTING
CORPORATION, REGARDLESS OF THE MANNER IN WHICH, OR
WHETHER OR NOT, THE OWNERSHIP INTEREST IS STATED OR REGISTERED ON THE STOCK.         IF A BENEFICIAL OWNER IS UNKNOWN, IT SHALL BE SUFFICIENT FOR THE BUSINESS TO DISCLOSE THE LEGAL OWNERSHIP OR IDENTITY OF THE NOMINEE
HOLDING TITLE FOR THE UNKNOWN BENEFICIAL OWNER. (2)         BENEFICIAL OWNERSHIP INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO RECORD OWNERSHIP AND ANY: (I)          5 PERCENT OR MORE OF THE STOCK OR OTHER OWNERSHIP IN ONE OR MORE ENTITIES IN A CHAIN OF
PARENT AND SUBSIDIARY OR AFFILIATED ENTITIES, ANY ONE OF
