17.
(a) The Board may reprimand, or suspend, revoke,
or refuse to renew the certificate of registration of any
registrant whoa the Board finds:
(1) Has practiced any fraud, deceit, or
misrepresentation in obtaining a certificate of
registration; [or]
(2) Has committed any gross negligence,
incompetence, or misconduct in the practice of
engineering[, or land surveying, as a professional
engineer[,] OR engineer-in-training[, or professional
land surveyor]; [or]
(3) Has been convicted of, or entered a plea
of nolo contendere to, a crime involving moral turpitude
or a violation of the State election laws by any court of
competent jurisdiction; [or]
(4) Has admitted, in writing or under oath,
acts or omissions in the course of an official
investigation by an authorized public official or public
body which would constitute a crime involving moral
turpitude or a violation of the State election laws,
whether or not the person is subsequently prosecuted; or
(5) Has knowingly violated any provision of
this article or the code of ethics promulgated pursuant
to § 8 (a).
17A.
No engineer, during the time that the Board has
suspended, revoked, or refused to renew his certificate
of registration for cause on the basis of sustained
charges shall practice engineering in this State in any
form as principal or agent, associate, employee, or
subordinate of another engineer, firm of engineers, or
corporation engaging in the practice of engineering.
Nothing in this [subsection] SECTION shall be construed
to prevent or affect employment in activities specified
in subsections (c), (d) and (e) of § 19 of this article.
18.
(a) [Any] A person [who shall] MAY NOT:
(1) practice[,] or offer to practice[,]
engineering for land surveying] in this State without
being registered in accordance with [the provisions of]
this article[, or any person, firm, partnership,
organization, association, corporation or other entity
using or employing];
(2) USE OR EMPLOY the words "engineer" or
