all requirements of this article. In the case of a
professional engineer, the certificate shall authorize
the "practice of engineering." In the case of an
engineer—in-training [or land surveyor-in-training], the
certificate shall state that the applicant has
successfully completed the examination in fundamental
engineering [or land surveying] subjects required by the
Board and has been enrolled as an "engineer-in—training"
[or "land surveyor—in-training." In the case of a
professional land surveyor, the certificate shall
authorize the "practice of land surveying" and in the
case of a property line surveyor, the certificate shall
authorize the practice of property line surveying].
Certificates of registration and certificates as
engineer—in—training [or land surveyor—in-training] shall
show the full name of the registrant, shall have a serial
number, and shall be signed by the chairman and the
secretary of the Board under seal of the Board.
(b) The issuance of a certificate of registration
by the Board shall be prima facie evidence that the
person named [therein] IN THE CERTIFICATE is entitled to
all the rights and privileges of a professional
engineer[, or of a professional land surveyor,] while the
[said] certificate remains unrevoked or unexpired.
(c) Each registrant [hereunder] UNDER THIS ARTICLE
is entitled upon registration to obtain a seal of the
design authorized by the Board, bearing the registrant's
name and the legend "registered professional engineer"
[or "registered professional land surveyor."]. This seal
is for the personal use of the registrant only. Plans,
specifications, plats and reports prepared by a
registrant shall be stamped with the [said] seal or ITS
facsimile [thereof] and signed by the registrant when
issued to any clients or when filed with public
authorities during the life of the registrant's
certificate. Any [such] plans, specifications, plats
and records [which] THAT are not so sealed and signed
[shall] MAY not be accepted by any public authority.
16.
The Board may issue a temporary permit to practice
engineering [or land surveying] to a person WHO IS not a
resident of and [having no] DOES NOT HAVE A place of
business in this State[, provided such] IF THE person is
legally qualified by registration to practice engineering
[or land surveying, as defined in §§ 2 (d) and 2 (h) of
this article,] in his own state. [Such] THE person
shall make application to the Board in writing and after
payment of a fee not to exceed [twenty-five dollars
($25.00)] $25, may be granted a written permit for a
definite period of time not to exceed one year to do a
specific job[; provided, however, no]. HOWEVER, THE right
to practice engineering [shall] DOES NOT accrue to [such]
AN applicant with respect to any other work not set forth
in [said] THE permit.
