The Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 is
codified as 49 U.S.C. §§1601 et seq.

(The Maryland counties included in the
Washington Suburban Transit District are
Montgomery and Prince George's.)

7-201. ADMINISTRATION ESTABLISHED.
THESE IS A MASS TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION IN THE
DEPARTMENT.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first
sentence of Art. 41, §207D(a).
It is set forth as a separate section for
emphasis.
7-202. MASS TRANSIT ADMINISTRATOR.
(A) POSITION AND APPOINTMENT.
THE HEAD OF THE ADMINISTRATION IS THE MASS TRANSIT
ADMINISTRATOR, WHO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY
WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR.
(B) RESPONSIBILITY TO SECRETARY; DUTIES.
(1) THE ADMINISTRATOR SERVES AT THE PLEASURE
OF THE SECRETARY AND SHALL REPORT DIRECTLY TO HIM.
(2) SUBJECT TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE
SECRETARY, THE ADMINISTRATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CARRYING
OUT:
