AN ACT concerning
Property Line Surveyors
FOR the purpose of permitting certain persons to be
licensed as changing the requirements for licensure
as property line surveyors.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 75 1/2 — Professional Engineers and
Land Surveyors
Section 12(f)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1975 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 12(f) of Article 75 1/2
Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and
1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Surveyors
12.
(f) As a property line surveyor:
(1) Any person may be registered as a
property line surveyor IF HE HAS LEGALLY HELD THE OFFICE
OF COUNTY SURVEYOR, OR upon completion of the following
two requirements:
(1) (I) Acquires a specific record of
eight years TWO YEARS experience in property line
surveying of a character satisfactory to the Board
indicating he may be competent to practice property line
surveying and presents evidence of such experience
satisfactory to the Board[.]; AND,
(2) (II) Successfully completes a written
or oral examination in the fundamentals of property line
surveying and the principles and practice of property
line surveying.
(2) ANY PERSON MAY BE REGISTERED AS A
PROPERTY LINE SURVEYOR IF:
(I) HE HAS LEGALLY HELD THE OFFICE OF
COUNTY SURVEYOR IN MARYLAND WITHIN THE FIVE YEAR PERIOD
PRECEDING THE DATE OF APPLICATION; AND
(II) SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES A WRITTEN
OR ORAL EXAMINATION IN THE FUNDAMENTALS OF PROPERTY LINE
