LAWS OF MARYLAND
DESCRIBING HOW TO GIVE FIRST AID TO A PERSON CHOKING ON FOOD LODGED IN THE THROAT. (A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE
THE MEANINGS INDICATED: (2) "RESTAURANT" MEANS EVERY FACILITY THAT PREPARES FOOD AND PROVIDES SEATING CAPACITY FOR PATRONS. (3) "SECRETARY" MEANS THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE.
(B)    THE SECRETARY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE SHALL IMPLEMENT A PROGRAM TO POST AND MAINTAIN IN EVERY RESTAURANT A DIAGRAM GIVING CLEAR AND ILLUSTRATIVE DIRECTIONS ON THE USE OF MANUAL MANEUVERS TO
ASSIST CHOKING VICTIMS. (C)  A PERSON WHO APPLIES THESE MANEUVERS TO REMOVE FOOD LODGED IN THE THROAT OF ANOTHER IS LIABLE ONLY IF HIS ACTIONS AMOUNT TO GROSS NEGLIGENCE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977, Approved May 17, 1977.

conduct automatic data processing audits of agencies
of the State government. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 40 - General Assembly Section 61B(c) Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1876 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 61B(c) of Article 40 - General
Assembly, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows: Article 40 - General Assembly 61B.
