SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 1 of Article 78 - Public Service
Commission Law, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 78 — Public Service Commission Law
1.
(A) The jurisdiction and powers of the Public
Service Commission shall extend to all public service
companies, as hereinafter defined, engaged in or
operating a utility business in this State, and to
certain additional motor carriers, as hereinafter
provided, to the full extent permitted by the
Constitution and laws of the United States. The powers
of the Commission shall be liberally construed; and the
