Commissioners[, who]. ONE shall be selected[,
respectively, one] from the First Election District, one
from the Second Election District, and one from the Third
Election District of [said] THE county[, and each], OF
THE REMAINING CANDIDATES, THE TWO RECEIVING THE HIGHEST
NUMBER OF VOTES SHALL BE SELECTED. EACH COMMISSIONER
shall hold OFFICE for four years and until his successor
shall be elected and qualified.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the persons specified by this
Act in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary of the
persons specified by this Act shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act which increase the number of
Calvert County Commissioners may not be given effect
until the 1978 general elections.
|

|
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
|
|
|
|
|
