Washington County being Article 22 of the Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1970 Edition and 1975 Supplement, as
amended) be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

8-2.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Each County Commissioner of Washington County
elected in November [1974] 1978, or thereafter, shall
receive for his services an annual salary of [$8,000]
$11,000, payable in monthly installments, and the
Commissioner elected President of the Board shall receive
an additional $500 per annum. A Commissioner shall
receive no other compensation whatsoever for his
services[, including those rendered pursuant to Section
242 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition)].

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the persons specified by this
Act in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary of the
persons specified by this Act shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
