LAWS OF MARYLAND
At the time of rendering his monthly account for
expenses the Sheriff shall make to the County
(Commissioners] COUNCIL a full and detailed report of any
and all fees collected by him in the discharge of his
official duties for the preceding month, the (said]
report to be under oath of the Sheriff and [to be]
accompanied by the Sheriff's check for the amount
thereof. 507C. The County [Commissioners] COUNCIL of Talbot County
shall provide the Sheriff and his deputies with an office
at the County Jail and [shall] furnish heat, light,
telephones, books, stationery, typewriters, files,
postage stamps and all other supplies and equipment
necessary for [said] THE office. The County
[Commissioners] COUNCIL shall provide the Sheriff with
necessary transportation, and may purchase, maintain and
insure a vehicle or vehicles and [such] equipment and
automotive communication equipment to serve those
purposes. Prior approval of the County [Commissioners]
COUNCIL must be granted before the purchase of any such
automobile or office equipment and [such] THE vehicles
shall not leave the county except on official business. 507D. The County [Commissioners] COUNCIL of Talbot County
shall appropriate whatever monies are necessary for
matron service in managing the domestic economy of the
jail and for a cook of the jail. The County
[Commissioners] COUNCIL shall pay directly the actual
costs of food, laundry, [etc.,] and all other necessaries
for prisoners of the jail. If the County (Commissioners]
COUNCIL [feel] FEELS such expenditures are too great,
[they] IT may establish maximum limits for [such] THEM.
No allowance for [such] THESE expenditures made by or for
the Sheriff [, ] shall be paid or credited to the [said]
Sheriff or for his account unless [the same shall be] IT
IS reported under oath to the County [Commissioners]
COUNCIL each month in writing, which oath shall show all
the expenditures and that they are correct and have been
honestly and lawfully incurred under each of the
provisions as above set forth, and that the Sheriff
himself has not derived any profit from the purchase
thereof, that each expenditure and purchase was
reasonable and necessary and the price thereof was not in
excess of the market price [, which said], THE report
and affidavit shall be accompanied by properly itemized
vouchers or certificates showing to whom and for what
purpose the [same] EXPENDITURES were made. [It shall be
the duty of the] THE Sheriff [to] SHALL keep a book at
the county jail in which he [shall keep] KEEPS a correct
and full statement or schedule of all prisoners committed
to his custody, showing by what authority, the offense
charged, the time when received and the time of discharge
[, which]. THE statement or schedule, together with all
