SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 700(g) be and it is hereby
added to Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and
1976 Supplement) to read as follows:

(G) NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF SUBSECTIONS
(B), (C), AND (D), WHENEVER A PRISONER IS RECEIVED BY AN
INSTITUTION UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE COMMISSIONER OF
CORRECTION FROM A COUNTY JAIL OR THE BALTIMORE CITY JAIL
WHERE HE HAL BEEN HELD IN PRE-TRIAL DETENTION, THE PERIOD
OF CONFINEMENT FOR DETERMINING THE CREDITS EARNED BY A
PRISONER UNDER SUBSECTIONS (B), (C), AND (D) SHALL
COMMENCE FROM THE FIRST DAY OF CONFINEMENT UNDER THE
JURISDICTION OF THE COMMISSIONER.
