SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 21-202(d)(2) of Article -
Transportation, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (As
enacted by Chapter____ of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1977) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

2 1-20 2.
(d) (2) [If] UNLESS a sign [permitting]
FORBIDDING PROHIBITING a turn is in place, vehicular
traffic facing a steady red signal, after stopping as
required by paragraph (1) of this subsection, cautiously
may enter the intersection -fee AND make [the] A RIGHT turn
[indicated by the sign]. This IF A SIGN PERMITTING ANY
OTHER TURN IS IN PLACE, VEHICULAR TRAFFIC FACING A STEADY
RED SIGNAL, AFTER STOPPING AS REQUIRED BY PARAGRAPH (1)
OF THIS SUBSECTION, CAUTIOUSLY MAY ENTER THE INTERSECTION
AND MAKE THE TURN INDICATED BY THE SIGN. IN EACH
INSTANCE, THIS vehicular traffic shall yield the
right-of—way to any pedestrian lawfully within an
adjacent crosswalk and to any other traffic lawfully
using the intersection.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 19771978.
