EMERGENCY SITUATION IN WHICH THE OWNER OR CUSTODIAN OF
THE ANIMAL IS NOT AVAILABLE TO GRANT PERMISSION, IS NOT
LIABLE FOR ANY CIVIL DAMAGES AS THE RESULT OF ANY
PROFESSIONAL ACT OR OMISSION BY HIM OR HER NOT AMOUNTING
TO GROSS NEGLIGENCE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

AN ACT concerning
Veterinary Hospitals - Licenses
FOR the purpose of defining a veterinary hospital;
requiring such hospitals to be licensed by the State
Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners; providing a
license fee; and providing for the suspension or
revocation of such a license.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 2-304.1 be and it is hereby
added to Article - Agriculture, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume and 1976 Supplement) to read as
follows;

2-304.1.
(A) AS USED IN THIS SUBTITLE, "VETERINARY
HOSPITAL" MEANS ANY BUILDING OR PORTION OF A BUILDING
WHICH IS REGULARLY USED FOR THE TREATMENT OF ANIMALS BY A
VETERINARY PRACTITIONER.
