the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume
and 1976 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 43 - Health
136C.
(a) For the purposes of this section, "person" means
the medical and chirurgical faculty of the State of
Maryland, its component medical societies, any committee
of the medical and chirurgical faculty of the State of
Maryland or its component societies, in-hospital staff
committees, credentials committee of a hospital (or its
equivalent), chief executive officer of a hospital, dean
of any medical school located in Maryland, members of the
Board of Medical Examiners, or members of the Commission
on Medical Discipline, UTILIZATION COMMITTEE OF A
NONPROFIT HEALTH SERVICE PLAN, UTILIZATION COMMITTEE OF A
HEALTH INSURER DOING BUSINESS IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND,
OR A CASUALTY INSURER WRITING MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
LIABILITY INSURANCE IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.
