the term of the county treasurer who is elected to that
position at the regular election in the month of
November, 1970, the county treasurer shall receive an
annual salary of $8,500.00 with no additional sum for
expenses] IS $10,000 $11,500.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
Somerset County Treasurer may continue to receive an
expense allowance in the amount of $125 a month through
the remainder of the term of the Treasurer in office at
the time of enactment of this measure. All prior
payments of this nature, if any, are ratified by this
Act. Beginning with the term of office of the next
Treasurer taking effect after the effective date of this
Act, no further expense allowance is permitted.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of
the Somerset County Treasurer in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary of the Treasurer shall take effect
at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 2 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1977.
