(A) POSITION AND APPOINTMENT.
THE HEAD OF THE ADMINISTRATION IS THE STATE AVIATION
ADMINISTRATOR, WHO SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE SECRETARY
WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR.
(B) RESPONSIBILITY TO SECRETARY; DUTIES.
(1) THE ADMINISTRATOR SERVES AT THE PLEASURE
OF THE SECRETARY AND SHALL REPORT DIRECTLY TO HIM.
(2) SUBJECT TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE
SECRETARY, THE ADMINISTRATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CARRYING
OUT:
(I) THE POWERS AND DUTIES VESTED BY LAW IN
THE ADMINISTRATION; AND
(II) THOSE POWERS AND DUTIES VESTED IN THE
SECRETARY AND DELEGATED TO THE ADMINISTRATOR BY THE
SECRETARY.
(C) SALARY.
THE ADMINISTRATOR IS ENTITLED TO THE SALARY PROVIDED
IN THE STATE BUDGET.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 41,
§207B(a) — except for the first sentence of
that section, which now appears as §5—201 of
this subtitle.
The provisions of present §207B(a) that deal
with the "incumbent Director of Aeronautics as
of June 30, 1971" are deleted as now obsolete.
Present §§207B(b) and (e) are deleted as
obsolete. Present §207B(c) and (d) now appear
in §5—216 of this subtitle.

Administrator from office, see, also,
§2-102(e) of this article.
5-203. MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ADMINISTRATION.
(A) GENERAL EXERCISE OF POWERS AND DUTIES.
THE EXERCISE OF THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE
ADMINISTRATION IS SUBJECT TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE
SECRETARY AND, WHERE APPLICABLE, TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE
MARYLAND TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY.
(B) EXERCISE OF POWERS AND DUTIES SUBJECT TO PRIOR
APPROVAL.
