Dorchester County — Sale of Real Property
FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners

property without public sale to certain government
agencies under certain conditions; to execute
necessary deeds and instruments; and clarifying
language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 9 of Article 25 - County
Commissioners, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows;
Article 25 — County Commissioners
9.
(A) The County Commissioners of Dorchester County,
in addition to, but not in substitution of, the powers
which may have been or may hereafter be granted them,
[shall have the full power and authority to] MAY acquire
by lease, purchase, or condemnation, real or leasehold
property needed for any public purpose, [and to] MAY
erect buildings thereon for the benefit of the county,
[and to] MAY sell at public sale any real or leasehold
property belonging to the county when in their discretion
it is no longer needed for public use, and [to] MAY
execute and acknowledge any and all deeds [and/or] AND
