(House Bill 1011)
AN ACT concerning
Washington County — Board of Education
FOR the purpose of compensating and allowing certain
expenses to be reimbursed to members of the Board of
Education of Washington County; generally relating
to the Washington County Board of Education; and
prohibiting the salary increase for which provision
is made by this Act from affecting the incumbents.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 36A (f) be and it is hereby
added to Article 77 — Public Education, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) to read as follows:
Article 77 - Public Education
36A.
(F) COMPENSATION FOR ALL BOARD MEMBERS SHALL BE AS
PROVIDED FOR IN THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BUDGET AND SHALL BE
PAID IN 12 EQUAL MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS. THE COMPENSATION
FOR EACH BOARD MEMBER SHALL BE $1,200 ANNUALLY. THE
PRESIDING OFFICER SHALL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL ANNUAL
AMOUNT OF $200. AFTER SUBMITTING VOUCHERS, MEMBERS
SHALL BE REIMBURSED FOR TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES, BUT
MAY NOT EXCEED A LIMIT SET BY THE WASHINGTON COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the persons specified by this
Act in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
