AN ACT concerning
Charles County — Water, Sewerage, and
Solid Waste Disposal Systems

FOR the purpose of specifying additional purposes for
which the Charles County Commissioners may levy
connection charges within special taxing districts
in that County; and clarifying language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 78B(i) of the Public Local Laws of
Charles County being Article 9 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1969 Edition and 1975 Supplement, as added
by Chapter 149 of the Acts of 1976) be and it is hereby
repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
Article 9
78B.
(i) Connection charges to pay principal and
interest. For the purpose of CONSTRUCTING, MAINTAINING,
REPAIRING AND OPERATING THE COUNTY WATER, SEWERAGE, SOLID
WASTE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS, AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF paying the
principal of and interest on any bonds issued or to be
issued by the County Commissioners as in this section
provided, the County Commissioners are hereby empowered
and directed to make within each special taxing district
as established in the County a charge for every water or
sewer connection. The charges herein provided shall not
be limited to the cost to the County for making such
connections. Such charges may be based on reasonable
