MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                            1367 required to be included with the original application for
a permit. On receipt of the additional bond or deposit
and the additional material, the Secretary may issue an
amended permit covering any additional opening covered by
the additional bond. (a) (1) The operator may elect to deposit cash,
a certificate of deposit from a Maryland bank, or
negotiable bonds of the United States government with the
Department in lieu of a corporate surety. The cash
deposit [of] OR market value of the securities may not
be less than the required sum of the bond.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977. Approved March 31, 1977.
CHAPTER 61 (Senate Bill 636) AN ACT concerning Carroll County — Zoning FOR the purpose of providing that in the case of
conservation and agricultural zoning in Carroll
County, that the preferred use is agricultural for
the purpose of operating certain machinery. BY adding to The Public Local Laws of Carroll County

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 3-23A be and it is hereby
added to the Public Local Laws of Carroll County being
Article 7 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1976
Edition)

3-23A.
IN ALL CONSERVATION AND AGRICULTURE ZONING, THE
PREFERRED USE IS AGRICULTURE. THE OPERATION AT ANY TIME
OF ANY MACHINERY USED IN FARMING PROCEDURES AND ALL OTHER
AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS SHALL BE PERMITTED AND HAVE
PREFERENCE OVER ALL OTHER USES.
