the office of the Administrator is established
(cf., §5-202 (a) of this title) is deleted as
unnecessary.
The only other changes are in style.
The second sentence of present §1-102, which
provides for the responsibilities of the
Administrator, subject to the authority of the
Secretary, is deleted as redundant in light of
§5-202(b) of this title.
(D) AERONAUTICS.
(1) "AERONAUTICS" MEANS THE SCIENCE AND ART
OF FLIGHT.
(2) "AERONAUTICS" INCLUDES:
(I) TRANSPORTATION BY AIRCRAFT;
(II) THE OPERATION, CONSTRUCTION, REPAIR, OR
MAINTENANCE OF AIRCRAFT, AIRCRAFT POWER PLANTS, AND THEIR
ACCESSORIES;
(III) THE REPAIR, PACKING, AND MAINTENANCE OF
PARACHUTES;
(IV) THE DESIGN, ACQUISITION, ESTABLISHMENT,
CONSTRUCTION, EXTENSION, OPERATION, IMPROVEMENT, REPAIR,
REGULATION, OR MAINTENANCE OF AIRPORTS, AIRPORT
FACILITIES, AND AIR NAVIGATION FACILITIES; AND
(V) INSTRUCTION IN FLYING AND RELATED GROUND
SUBJECTS.

Art. 1A, §1-103.
The present phrase "but not limited to" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of the
definition of "includes" in §1-101 of this
article.
