AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's City Commission — Nature Conservancy

FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Economic
and Community Development to review and evaluate
proposals submitted by the Nature Conservancy and to
advise the Governor and the General Assembly of
recommendations, and authorizing the Secretary of
Economic and Community Development to enter into
certain agreements with the Nature Conservancy.

Article 41 — Governor — Executive and Administrative

Departments
Section 374A

Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 374A be and it is hereby added
to Article 41 — Governor — Executive and Administrative
Departments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) to read as
follows:

374A.

(A)          THE NATURE CONSERVANCY MAY SUBMIT TO THE
DEPARTMENT A PROPOSAL OUTLINING AN AREA IN WHICH THE
NATURE CONSERVANCY, IN COOPERATION WITH OR ON BEHALF OF
THE ST. MARY'S CITY COMMISSION, HAS SECURED OR IS
CONSIDERING SECURING TITLE OR OTHER LEGAL INTEREST.        THE
PROPOSAL SHALL INCLUDE THE LOCATION, ACREAGE, EXPLANATION
OF PLANNED USE, AND EXPLANATION OF VALUES WHICH MAKE THE
ACREAGE OF INTEREST TO THE STATE.

(B)         WITHIN THREE MONTHS AFTER RECEIPT OF THE
PROPOSAL, THE SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT SHALL REPORT TO THE NATURE CONSERVANCY HIS
