OR CONTINUED HOSPITALIZATION IN THE EVENT THAT SUCH
SERVICE ON A HOME CARE BASIS WAS NOT AVAILABLE. HOKE
HEALTH SERVICES MAY NOT BE PROVIDED TO OR WITHHELD FROM
THE PATIENT ON THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, COLOR, CREED,
NATIONAL ORIGIN, OR SOURCE PAYMENT.]]

TO OBTAIN VALID LICENSURE, THE HOME HEALTH AGENCY

SHALL PROVIDE AN APPROPRIATE HOME HEALTH SERVICE, UNDER
THE DIRECTION AND GUIDANCE OF A LICENSED PHYSICIAN, TO
PATIENTS WHO ARE DEEMED TO REQUIRE INITIAL OR CONTINUED
HOSPITALIZATION, OR WHO, IN LIEU OF HOSPITALIZATION, MAY
BE CARED FOR AT HOME AS A PRESCRIBED LEVEL OF CARE. HOME
HEALTH SERVICES MAY NOT BE WITHHELD FROM THE PATIENT ON

THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, COLOR, CREED, NATIONAL ORIGIN,

SOURCE OF PAYMENT. OR ABILITY TO PAY. NOTHING IN THIS

SUBTITLE__SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PROHIBIT THE CARE OF THE

SICK WITH OR WITHOUT COMPENSATION OR PERSONAL PROFIT WHEN
DONE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRACTICE OF THE RELIGIOUS
TENETS OF ANY CHURCH BY ADHERENTS THEREOF.

THE PURPOSE OF COORDINATED HOME HEALTH CARE PROGRAMS
IS TO AVOID INSTITUTIONALIZATION IF POSSIBLE, TO SHORTEN
THE LENGTH OF HOSPITAL STAYS, TO SPEED RECOVERY, AND TO
BRIDGE THE GAP IN COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES FOR PATIENTS
WHO WOULD OTHERWISE NOT BE ABLE TO OBTAIN ADEQUATE HEALTH
CARE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning

Domestic Cases — Appointment of Counsel for Minors

FOR the purpose of providing for the appointment by the
court of attorneys for minors in certain domestic
cases in which the issue of custody, visitation
rights, or the amount of support is contested and
providing for the award of counsel fees; and
providing that an attorney appointed by the court
may not represent any party to the action.
