MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

verification of the signatures thereon and ascertained
that the parsons signing the petitions represented at
least 25% or more of the registered voters residing in
the area to be annexed and who are, in fact, registered
as voters in the County elections in the district in
which the territory to be annexed is located, and

Whereas, upon presentation of the petitions to the
President and Commissioners of the Town of Sudlersville,
the presiding officer thereof caused to be made a
verification of the signatures thereon and ascertained
that the person signing the petitions owned at least 25%
or more of the assessed valuation of the real property
located in the area to be annexed, and

Whereas, the President and Commissioners of the Town
of Sudlersville are desirous of annexing the hereinafter
described area into the corporate boundaries and taxable
limits of the Town of Sudlersville, this resolution is
adopted.

[Section 180A of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Queen Anne's County, added.

TAKOMA PARK

(Montgomery and Prince George's Counties)

ORDINANCE NO. 2333

RESOLUTION NO. 1-1975

(Charter Amendment)

WHEREAS, the compensation of the Mayor and City Council
of Takoma Park, Maryland, has not been increased
since 1964, and is now lagging far behind that of
jurisdictions of comparable size in the metropolitan
area, it is the desire of the Mayor and Council to
correct this inequity for the benefit of succeeding
elected officials; AND

WHEREAS, from the provisions of Section   13 of Article 23A

of the Annotated Code of Maryland    (1957 Edition, as

amended) it is mandatory that       the following

resolution be introduced proposing   the change in the
charter.

[Sections 73-3(t) and 74-5(n) of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Montgomery and Prince George's Counties,
respectively, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date March 4, 1975]
