MUNICIPAL CHARTERS
A RESOLUTION of the Council of The City of Salisbury
proposing an amendment of the Charter of The City of
Salisbury by supplementing Section 29, the General
Powers Section, by adding a new sub—section (k2)
providing the power to enact Rent Controls.

A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT
ENTITLED
A RESOLUTION to repeal Sections 475 through 516 both
inclusive of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Wicomico County, 1965 Edition, as amended, said
Sections comprising the Charter of the Town of
Sharptown, and to re-enact in place thereof new
Sections 475 through 505 both inclusive, said new
sections constituting a revised Charter for
Sharptown, said revised Charter does not change the
boundaries of the Town, but is does enumerate the
corporate powers of the Town, provides
administrative duties for the President of the Town
Commissioners, provides for the future creation of
departments, commissions and agencies of government;
specifies exactly the financial and budgetary
procedures of the Town and provides for the
advertisement of and holding of public hearings
before adoption of the annual budget and
determination of the tax rate; specifies town
election procedures, provides for advertisement of
filing deadlines for the office of Commissioners,
and increases the voting hours of elections;
provides for referendums before issuance of
municipal bonds, and advertisement for sealed bids
on municipal purchases in amounts greater than
$1,000.00; provides a personnel system for future
town employees and against all forms of
discrimination.
[Sections 475 through 516 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Wicomico County, repealed and Sections 475
through 505 added.
