RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL

OF SMITHSBURG TO ENLARGE THE

CORPORATE BOUNDARY OF THE TOWN

RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Council of the Town of

Smithsburg, adopted pursuant to the authority of
Article 11—E of the Constitution of Maryland and
Section 19 of Article 23—A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1966 Edition, title "Corporations,

Municipal", sub—title "Home Rule", sub-heading
"Annexation", as said section was amended by Chapter
314 of the Laws of Maryland of 1961, to enlarge the
corporate boundaries of the Mayor and Council of

Smithsburg as previously defined by the Mayor and
Council as it appears in the public records of the

Commissioner of the Land Office and Director of the
Department of Legislative Reference and the Clerk of

the Circuit Court for Washington County, by adding
or annexing to said corporate boundaries the

following area adjoining the present corporate
boundary, to—wit:

PARCEL A - Along Well Road and the
Smithsburg-Pondsville Road. Beginning at the end of
809.11 feet in the fifth or North 68° 17' East 1735.80
foot line of the Corporate Boundary of Smithsburg as
adopted in 1959, and running thence so as to include the
lands of the Board of Education South 51° 54' East 57.5
feet to a point, thence North 68° 17' East 579.04 feet to
a point, thence crossing the Smithsburg-Pondsville Road
South 40° 34' 29" East 58.28 feet to a point, thence
along the Southeast side of said Road South 6° 33' West
61.43 feet to a point, thence South 25° 33' West 85.2'
feet to a point and South 24° 07' West 247.13 feet to a
point thence leaving said Road and running South 55° 07'
East 417.5 feet to a point, thence North 24° 20' East
261.2½ feet to a point, thence North 24° 33' East 427.3
feet to a point, thence North 68° 03' East 485.38 feet
into South Main Street, thence along said Street North
25° 27' West 230.21 feet to the end of the eighth line
of said Corporate Boundary, thence reversing the lines
thereof South 28° 11' East 200.16 feet to a point, thence
South, 62° 10' West 324.1. feet to a point, thence North
29° 17' West 262.0 Feet into Well Road, and South 63° 17'
West 926.69 feet to the place of beginning;

Containing 7.01 acres of land, more or less;

PARCEL B - Along Pennsylvania Avenue and North Main
Street - Beginning at the end of 602.17 feet in the 11th.
or North 75° 35' West 1996.50 foot line of the Corporate
Boundary of Smithsburg as adopted in 1959, and running
