A House Joint Resolution concerning

Approval of changes in the rates of payment to outside

examination monitors and physicians rendering

pre-employment and evaluation physical examinations

FOR the purpose of indicating approval by the General
Assembly of Maryland of the changes to the
procedures for determining rates of payment for
outside examination monitors and physicians

rendering pre-employment and evaluation physical
examinations as adopted by the Board of Public Works
on March 24, 1976.

WHEREAS, Section 245(c) of Article 41 requires that
the amendment of any rule or regulation which increases
an agency's expenditures beyond budgetary limitations
must receive the express approval of the General Assembly
when the Legislature is in session; and

WHEREAS, At a meeting of the Board of Public Works
on March 24, 1976, the Board adopted amendments to change
the rate of payment to outside examination monitors and
physicians rendering pre—employment and evaluation
physical examinations. These amendments, effective April
1, 1976, will increase State expenditures beyond
budgetary limitations as follows:

Outside monitors                $ 4.00/hour            $ 4.50/hour

Physical Examinations $10.00                         15.00

WHEREAS, The amount of funds requested in the 1976
budget allowances for these services were based on rates
in effect since fiscal 1970; now, therefore, be it
