JOINT RESOLUTIONS

No. 6

the [[Governor establish a Small Business Commission
composed of representatives of small businesses in the
State for the purpose of protecting and promoting]]
Department of Economic and Community Development is
requested to conduct a study to determine ways the State
may help protect and promote the interests of the small
businessman and [[to]] promote the growth of small
business in Maryland[[. ]]; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Department is requested to report
to the General Assembly in the first week of the 1977
session the result of the study with proposals for the
State to help promote and protect small business in
Maryland.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

State Parks

FOR the purpose of requesting the [[Governor to appoint a
commission to study State park programs and to
recommend the development of the State park sites to
fulfill the recreational needs of the general
public; and providing for the commission]] Committee
On Open Space to study State park programs and to

develop recommendations__for the development of the

State park sites to fulfill the recreational needs
of the general public; and providing for the
Committee to report to the General Assembly.

WHEREAS, The General Assembly has established a
program to finance the acquisition and development of
vast acreages of land for public parks and recreational
facilities; and

WHEREAS, The General Assembly opines that State
parks and recreational facilities are of primary
importance to the residents of Maryland because of the
current economic crisis, the fuel shortages, and the now
highly urbanized communities; and

WHEREAS, The General Assembly opines that the
existing State parks do not fulfill the needs of the
general public other than providing natural settings for
limited family activities; and

WHEREAS, A commission should be created to study the
State park programs and offer recommendations that
further develop the State park sites to fulfill the
