LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 714

of the Commission, not appointed by the County
Commissioners, shall serve for terms of four years each
from June 1, 1963, and all members shall serve without
compensation, and the Commission shall file with the
County Commissioners no less than annually a
comprehensive report covering its activities. One member
shall serve for a period of four [(4)] years, one for a
period of three [(3)] years, one for a period of two
[(2)] years and one for a period, of one [(1)] year[, and
as]. AS terms expire, the County Commissioners shall
fill the vacancy and [such] THE appointee shall serve for
a period of four [ (4) ] years provided that should there
be a vacancy prior to the expiration of a term, the
Commissioners shall fill [said] THE vacancy for the
unexpired term. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL APPOINT
ANY ADDITIONAL MEMBERS, WHEN AUTHORIZED, TO A TERM OF
FOUR YEARS, COMMENCING ON JUNE 1.]]

(B) THE COMMISSION SHALL CONSIST OF 11 MEMBERS

APPOINTED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. SPECIAL

CONSIDERATION SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE APPOINTMENT OF

MINORITY GROUP REPRESENTATIVES. WHERE POSSIBLE, ONE

MEMBER SHALL BE CHOSEN FROM EACH OF THE FOLLOWING:

CATHOLIC CLERGY, MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATIONS, BOARD OF

EDUCATION. AND COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION.___THE COMMISSION

MEMBERS SHALL SERVE FOR A TERM OF FOUR YEARS, AND ALL

MEMBERS SHALL SERVE WITHOUT COMPENSATION. THE COMMISSION
SHALL FILE WITH THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS NO LESS OFTEN

THAN ANNUALLY A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT COVERING ITS

ACTIVITIES.

(C) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY PROVIDE FOR AND

APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE

COMMISSION TO ACCOMPLISH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS

SECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1976.
