AN ACT concerning
St. Mary's County — Human Relations Commission
FOR the purpose of altering the number of members
appointed to the St. Mary's County Human Relations
Commission; providing for the appointment of certain
members of a certain commission to serve for a
certain term; and clarifying language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County
Section 30(b) and (c)
Article 19 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1965 Edition and 1974 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 30(b) and (c) of the Public Local
Laws of St. Mary's County being Article 19 of the Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1965 Edition and 1974 Supplement,
as amended) be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 19
30.
[[(b) [There shall be eleven (11) members] MEMBERS
of the Commission [who] shall be selected in the
following manner: a representative of the Catholic Clergy
of St. Mary's County, to be designated by the Director; a
representative of the Ministerial Association of St.
Mary's County, to be designated by that association; a
representative of the Board of Education of St. Mary's
County, to be designated by that board; a representative
of the St. Mary's County Bar Association, to be
designated by that association; [four] FIVE
representative citizens of the county to be appointed by
the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County; [three]
AND representative citizens of the county, one to be
appointed by each elected representative of St. Mary's
County in the General Assembly of Maryland. The
Commission shall be bi—racial in composition and the
selecting groups and organizations shall give
consideration of this factor in selecting their
representatives to serve on the Commission. The members
