AN ACT concerning

Tobacco Authority - Auction Markets

FOR the purpose of changing the date on which the Tobacco
Authority shall meet to determine the dates of the
annual auction markets and changing the date of
publication of such dates.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7-208 of Article - Agriculture,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1975
Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and reenacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Article — Agriculture

7-208.

The authority shall determine annually the opening
and closing dates for the state tobacco auction markets.
To assist it in making this determination, the authority
shall call a meeting of licensed commission selling
agencies and loose leaf auction buyers not later than
[December 1] JANUARY 15 of each year. The authority
shall give written notice of this meeting to every
licensed commission selling agency and loose leaf auction
buyer at least ten days in advance of the date of the
meeting. The authority shall publish the opening and
closing dates not later than [December] FEBRUARY 10 of
each year.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.
