BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 — Election Code
Section 2-3 (a) (24) and 2-5(b)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 2-3(a)(24) and 2-5(b) of Article
33 - Election Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
Article 33 — Election Code
2-3.
(a) Each member of the boards of the several
political subdivisions of the State shall receive an
annual salary of not less than the following amounts:
(24) Worcester County: [$800. for each member
of the board, plus an additional sum of $200. for the
chairman of the board.]
(I) [[CHAIRMAN]] PRESIDENT......$1,500
(II) MEMBERS.....................$1,200

(b) (1) The salary of the counsel [shall]
MAY not exceed the salary of the members of the board.
[(1)](2) The counsel to the board in
Baltimore County shall receive such annual compensation
as may be included in the County budget from time to time
but, in no event, to be less than $2,000 per annum.
[(2)](3) The board in Wicomico County [shall
have the power to] MAY employ an attorney, who shall be a
member of the bar of Wicomico County and who shall also
be the attorney for the judges[; and the]. THE attorney
shall receive an annual salary of [$1200] $1,200 which
shall be paid in equal quarterly installments by the
County Council of Wicomico County[, provided, however,
that], HOWEVER, that in the event of special elections
or special services rendered, the County Council [shall],
at the request and recommendation of the board, SHALL
allow [such] additional compensation [as] they may deem
commensurate with the special services rendered.
