SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 of Article 32A -
Department of Law, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 32A — Department of Law

1.

There [shall be] IS a Department of Law of the State
of Maryland. The head of [said] THE Department [shall
be] IS the Attorney General of the State.

2.

The Attorney General [shall have] HAS general
charge, supervision and direction of the legal business
of the State, except as provided in § 12 of this article
and any other [provisions of law, and he, together with
his assistants,] PROVISION OF LAW. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL,
HIS DEPUTIES, AND HIS ASSISTANTS shall perform the
duties now or hereafter prescribed by the Constitution
and laws of this State[ , and in addition thereto]. IN
ADDITION, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL shall be the legal adviser
and representative of and perform all legal work for the
[following boards, commissions, departments, officers and
