Article 43 - Health

Section 791(2), (4), (5) and (8), 792 through 800,

inclusive, 801(a), 804(4), and 307
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 791(2), (4), (5) and (8), 792
through 800, inclusive, 801(a), 804(4), and 807 of
Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

791.

As used in this subtitle, unless the context
otherwise requires:

(2) ["Certificate of registration"]

"LICENSE" includes A LICENSE, [a] temporary [certificate
of registration] LICENSE, AND RENEWAL OF LICENSE.

(4)         "Audiologist" means any person who[, for
a fee,] represents himself to the public by title or by
description of services, methods or procedures as one who
evaluates, examines, directs, instructs, or counsels
persons suffering from disorders or conditions affecting
hearing or assists persons in the perception of sound. A
person is deemed to be an audiologist if he provides such
services to the public under any title incorporating the
terms "audiology,"         "audiologist,"         "audiological,"
"hearing clinic," "hearing clinician," "hearing or aural
rehabilitation," "hearing specialist."

(5)         "Speech pathologist" means any person
who[, for a fee,] represents himself to the public by
title or by description of services, methods, or
procedures as one who evaluates, examines, instructs, or
counsels persons suffering from conditions or disorders
affecting speech and language. A person is deemed to be
a speech pathologist if he offers such services under any
title incorporating the words "speech pathology," "speech
correction," "speech correctionist," "speech therapy,"
"speech therapist," "speech clinic," "speech clinician,"
"logopedist,"                    "communication disorders,"
"communicologist," "speech and language therapist," [and
"speech and language clinician."] "SPEECH AND LANGUAGE
CLINICIAN," OR ANY OTHER TITLE CONNOTING PROFESSIONAL
PROFICIENCY IN SPEECH PATHOLOGY.
