than twenty-one years of age, and was actively engaged in
the practice of podiatry in this State on April 4, 1916,
and upon the payment by the applicant of a fee of ten
dollars, the said Board of Podiatry Examiners shall issue
to such applicant a certificate authorizing him to
practice podiatry in this State which certificate shall
confer upon the said applicant all the rights and
privileges conferred by certificates issued after
examinations. The said certificate shall be registered
by the person receiving the same in the manner as
certificates are required to be registered with the clerk
of the circuit court of the county in which the applicant
resides, or, if the applicant resides in the City of
Baltimore, in the office of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore City, as provided by § 484.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
481, 482(d), 483, 484, 485, 487 through 493A, inclusive,
of Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

481.

[All persons now practicing podiatry, or who shall
hereafter begin to practice podiatry in the State of
Maryland shall possess the qualifications required by
this subtitle. It shall be unlawful for any person to
designate himself or herself or his or her occupation by
the use of any words or letters or trade diplomas
calculated to lead others to believe that he or she is a
podiatrist or foot specialist unless he or she is duly
licensed as provided for in this subtitle. All persons
licensed under this subtitle shall designate themselves
as podiatrist and use no other appended titles, such as
foot specialist, orthopedist, surgeon, etc., except the
title of chiropodist. All licenses issued by the Board
shall be issued to individual persons. It shall be
unlawful for any podiatrist licensed in this State to
practice under the name of any entity of any kind or
character or any name except his or her true name under
which the license is issued.]

(A)    A PERSON MAY NOT PRACTICE OR REPRESENT HIMSELF
AS ABLE TO   PRACTICE PODIATRY UNLESS HE IS LICENSED AS A
PODIATRIST      OR IS REGISTERED AS A PODIATRIC ASSISTANT
UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)    (1) AN INDIVIDUAL MAY BE REGISTERED AS A
PODIATRIC ASSISTANT BY THE BOARD IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS
RULES AND REGULATIONS.

(2) A PODIATRIC ASSISTANT MAY PRACTICE
PODIATRY ONLY UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A LICENSED
PODIATRIST AND SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF
