AN ACT concerning
Podiatry
FOR the purpose of eliminating the requirement that the
State Board of Podiatry Examiners report annually to
the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland;
authorizing the Board to require professional
experience as a condition of licensure after a
certain date; enabling the Board to issue temporary
licenses under certain circumstances; modifying and
clarifying provisions for issuance of licenses;
changing the place of recordation of licenses;
modifying and clarifying the disciplinary procedures
of the Board and the conditions for such action;
modifying the requirements for license renewal and
providing penalties for late renewal and failure to
renew; defining certain terms; and deleting certain
obsolete provisions and generally clarifying the law
relating to practice of podiatry and to the Board.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 486 of Article 43 - Health, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed:

Every person who was engaged in the practice of
podiatry in this State previous to January 1, 1916, shall
file with the Board of Podiatry Examiners on or before
the first day of August, 1916, a written application for
a certificate to practice podiatry, together with proof
satisfactory to the board that the applicant is not less
