Kent Ss The humble peticon of John Jarvis of Kent County ~~~ Humbly Sheweth that your peticonr. is A poore indigent person & blind Soe that he canott get his living ~~~ Prays your Worships Charity towards his mentainance & Shall pray ~~~ The which peticon being read & by ye Court duly considered It was thereupon Ordered That ye peticoner John Jarvis have a Mentainance allowed him out of ye County According to his peticon ~~~~~ Jno Dowdall Clk ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Robert Smith proves an acct. ast. Griffith Jones Decd. for ball. due one hundred pounds of Tobo. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Edward Rush having Entered into Recognizance for his personll. Appearance at this Court and being now Solemnly Called Appeared not but made default ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John Hollinsworths Recognizance vizt. John Hollinsworth you owne your Selfe to Stand Indebted to our Soveraigne Lord ye King in ye Sume of Tenn pounds Sterg. to be leavied upon your goods & Chattles lands & Tenements if you doe not make your personall Appearance at ye next Court to be held for Kent County Taken before me Jno Whittington June ye 30th. 1701 And ye Said John Hollinsworth being Sollemnly Called appeared but made Default ~~~ but Soone Afterwards Appeares But ye Said John Hollinsworth being prsented by ye Grand jury was followeth vizt Wee of ye Grand jury doe present John Hollinsworth Junr. of Towne hundred for that he the Said Hollinsworth hath a Stolen horse in his possession that is rebranded and Supposed to belong to William Burows of Said hundred ~~~ The which prsentmt. was Endorsed ~~~~~ Billa Vera Wm Comegys foreman The which prsentmt. was framed into a bill of Indictmt. as followes vizt. Kent Ss The Jurors for our Soveraigne Lord ye King that now is for ye body of Kent County Upon theire oathes doe prsent John Hollinsworth of Kent County Junr. for that he ye Said John ye 25 day of Novemr. Anno Domi. 1701 at Towne hundred in Kent County within ye jurisdiction of this Court had a Stole horse in his possession that is branded & Supposed to be ye horse of A Certaine William Burris ast. ye peace of our Soveraige Lord ye King and against ye forme of ye Act of Assembly in that case made & provided Macklin pr Doms. Rege And ye Said John Hollinsworth having Made A Motion to ye Court & prayed that he might be Admitted Councill which was Granted And it was thereupon Ordered that ye Said John have Councell Assigned him
Considered & maturely argued ~~~ It was Therefore Considered by ye Court that ye Said bill of Indictment in that maner & forme drawne is not Suffitient to cause ye Said Defendt. Jno Hollinsworth to Answer Jno Dowdall Clk |
