Acknowledges A Letter of Attry to Wm Scott of Talbott County for to make over a piece of Land to Hugh Paxton of Said County containing one hundred acres Comonly Called or Knowne by ye name Powells Fancey ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nicholas Clounds Sworne & Sent to ye Grand jury ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mathew Mason acknowledgeth A Conveyance to Thomas Foord for one hundred & fifty acres of Land Called Barton lyeing in Kent County on ye South Side of Chester River upon ye branches of Hambletons Creeke next adjoyning to Richard Collinss. Lott ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mr. John Whittington Sitts ~~~ And Leiut. Coll. Thomas Absent ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Martha Phillingham wife to Richard Phillingham of Easter Neck hundred being preseted June last in ^ for incontinent living with Edward Skidmore ye which presentmt. being Signed billa vera Nicho: Clouds foreman Command was Therefore given to ye Sherf. of Kent County ye 25 day of June Annoq Domi. 1701 That he cause Martha Phillingham wife to Richard Phillingham if found in his County Soe that She be & personally Appeare before our Justices at ye next Court to be held for this County to answer unto all Such things as Should then & there be Objected ast. hir on our behalfe The which cause being contd. untill this Time ye Said Martha now Appeares & ye Said presentment being framed into A bill of Indictmt. was as followeth vizt. Kent Ss The jurors for our Lord ye King for ye bodie of Kent County upon theire oathes [do] prsent Martha Phillingham wife of Richard Phillingham of Easter Neck hundred in Kent County for that She ye Said Martha ye Twentieth day of June Anno Domi. 1701 at Easter Neck hundred within ye jurisdiction of this Court did & as yet doth incontinently live & cohabitt with a Certaine Edward Skidmore ast. ye Divine Law of Allmighty God & ast. ye forme of ye Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided Macklin pr Doms. Rege Not Guilty pr patriam pa. pa. And he who follows for our Lord ye King Sayes She is Guilty Macklin pr Doms. Rege Comand was Therefore given to ye Sherf. of Kent County that he cause to come here Twelve good & Lawfull men of his bailiwick to Try ye Issue above Joyned who made answer he had there ready Twelve &a. as by his writt he was Comand :ed vizt. Michael Miller foreman Thomas Puney John Tyliard Samuel Wallis Thoms Gwin Nicholas Massey Nathanll. Cleave Wm Robinson Thomas Hynde Thomas Godwin Edwin Godwin and Peter Peterson which Jury being duely tryed & Sworne & having heard ye Allegacons Evidences & pleadings on boath Sides ye Court giveth them theire Charge who withdraw to consider on ye premisses and after Some Short time doe againe returne & being called over as alsoe ye Defendt. & being demanded whether ye Said Martha Phillingham was Guilty of ye fact Alleadged in ye Indictmt. or not Guilty ~~~ doe Say Not Guilty & Michael Miller theire foreman all of them Soe Say ~~~~~ Therefore It is considered by ye Court here this day vizt. ye 26 day of Novemr.
