John Gandy bought of Robert Smith of Talbott County Esqr. & comonly Called & known by ye name of Chance ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Capt. William Hackett comes into open Court and Acknowledges A Conveyance or Deed of Land to John Dowdall of this County & Province for Two hundred Acres of Land Scitua[te] lyeing & being on ye South Side of Chester River in Kent County & on ye North Side of a Smalle branch out of A Creeke called Double Creeke Comonly Called & knowne by ye Name of Woolerhampton likewise came Heaster Hackett wife of ye Said William Hackett who being Secrettly Examined out of ye hearing of hir Said Husband according to Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided did freely & voluntarily confess that She did give up all & Singular hir Right Title Dowrey Claime & demand whatsoe :ever of in or unto ye Said Land & premisses without any threat or displeasure of her Said husband & desired ye Same might be Entered upon ye Records of Kent County ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Emanuel Cleave Acknowledges himselfe Indebted unto our Soveraigne Lord King Wm ye Third his heires & Successors in ye full & just Sume of Tenn pounds Sterg. to be leavied upon his Goods & Chattles Lands & Tenements Condiconed he make not his personall Appearance at ye next Court to be held for this County & Good behaviour & abearance to all his Majties leidge Subject in ye menae time John Hollinsworth & Charles Hollinsworth Junr. ye Securities of ye Said Emanuell Cleave comes into Court & Acknowledgeth themselves Justly indebted unto our Said Soveraigne Lord ye King his heires & Successors in ye full & just Sume of five pounds Sterg.
