71) To be the right and Estate of the within named David Gist his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Written Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Acknowledged before James Calhoun W.m Russell Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that James Calhoun and William Russell Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgement were taken and who have thereto subscribed their County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them Given as such due faith and Credit is and Ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal (Seal) of Office this seventeenth day of June Seventeen hundred and Eighty three Recorded August 2.nd 1783 William Gibson Clk B County 10¼ sides Ex.d & Dl.d & p.d This Indenture made the nineteenth day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty three Between David Gist of Baltimore County in the State of Maryland Gentleman of the one part and Thomas Cockey the Elder of the County and state aforesaid Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said David Gist for and in Consideration of the sum of one thousand and five hundred pounds Current money to him the said David Gist in hand well and truly paid by the said Thomas Cockey at or before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof he the said David Gist Doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof Doth Acquit Release Exonerate and Discharge the Thomas Cockey his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever by these presents He the said David Gist Hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said Thomas Cockey his Executors Administrators and Assigns All that parcel or Tract of Land being part of Selsed Also part of Jamaicamai's Plague Port Royal and the Addition to Port Royal Beginning at a bounded Maple Tree Standing by a Branch Called the Deep Branch it being a bounded Tree of Cockeys Trust and a Tract of Land Called Selsed and Running thence South South East One hundred and Seventeen perches North forty Degrees East four hundred and eighteen perches North forty Degrees West one hundred and thirty perches North five Degrees West Seventy perches North thirty five Degrees West one hundred and two perches West Twenty one perches South fifty five Degrees West Seventy eight perches South two hundred and Eighty perches South fifty two Degrees West ninety two perches South twenty four Degrees East twenty five perches South West Seventy perches South four Degrees West fifty perches then with a Straight Line to the Beginning Tree Containing four hundred Acres (more or Less) Also all that Tract of Land Called Lands End Containing fifty Acres (more or Less) Also a Tract of Land called Sewells Contrivance Also a Tract of Land called Sewells hope And also one other Tract of Land Called Fools Folly All which said three Last mentioned Tracts of Land and Situate Lying and being on Patapsco falls in the County and state aforesaid And Also all those several pieces parcels and Tracts of Land hereinafter mentioned (that is to say) All that part parcel or Tract of Land Called Young Richard Also all that Part |
