       bearing Date on or about the nineteenth day of January seventeen hundred and eighty three due
       from a certain Thomas Clark to the aforesaid Edward Nicholls for the Sum of one hundred and
       twenty five pounds Specie with Interest from its date  To have and to hold the said Negro
       Slaves above named together with their increase and all his the said Edward Nicholls right title
       and Interest to the note aforesaid unto the said Oneill and Deakins their Executors Administrators and
       Assigns forever to their only proper use and behoof  Provided always and it is the true intent and
       meaning of these presents that if the said Edward Nicholls do and shall within the term of one year
       from the date hereof pay to the said Oneill and Deakins or their Assigns the aforesaid quantity of thirty
       three thousand four hundred pounds of fresh merchantable neat inspected Crop Tobacco with Interest
       from the first day of July instant then this instrument of writing and every clause therein contained
       shall be void and of none effect but if the said Edward Nicholls shall refuse neglect or omit to pay
       and deliver the said Tobacco together with Interest to the said Oneill and Deakins or their
       Assigns at the time limited for payment of the same that then and in such case they the said
       Oneill and Deakins and their Assigns shall have full power and Authority to set up and expose
       the said Negroes to public Sale and the monies arising therefrom to apply towards the payment
       and discharge of the aforesaid quantity of Tobacco at the Current price thereof at the time of receiving
       the said money  And the said Oneill and Deakins for themselves their heirs Executors and Administrators
       Doth covenant and agree with the said Edward Nicholls his Executors Administrators and
       Assigns that they the said Oneill and Deakins in case of the receipt of the said Sum of one hundred
       and twenty five pounds Specie with Interest thereon on the note above mentioned from Thomas
       Clark that they will discount the same out of the Tobacco debt aforesaid at the Current price of
       Tobacco at the time the said Sum of money shall be received and the same shall be applied
       towards the payment and discharge of his the said Nicholls bond for the debt above recited  In
       Witness whereof the said Edward Nicholls hath hereto set his hand and Seal the day and year

       On the back of the aforegoing instrument of writing was thus written Viz.t

       Received the day and year within mentioned of and from the within named Oneill and Deakins
       the Sum of thirty three thousand four hundred pounds of neat crop Tobacco the consideration

       County of Baltimore to wit   On the 15.th day of July 1783  Came before me the Subscriber one
       of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid the within named Edward Nicholls and
       acknowledged the within Instrument of writing as his Act and Deed according to the true intent
       and meaning thereof

       This Indenture made this thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and
       eighty three between William Paca Esquire of the City of Annapolis of the one part and
       Robert Morris Esquire of the City of Philadelphia of the other part  Witnesseth that the said
       William Paca Esq.r in consideration of the Sum of forty thousand pounds Continental Current
       money to the said William Paca Esq.r party hereto in hand paid by the said Robert Morris
       Esquire party to these presents the receipt whereof the said William Paca doth acknowledge
