522) belonging will warrant and for ever defend unto him the said Benjamin Penn his Heirs and Assigns against her the said Martha Carr and all and every person or persons claiming or to claim by from or under her or them In Witness whereof the aforesaid Martha Carr hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her Seal the day and year above written Signed Sealed & Delivered In the presence of Martha Carr (seal) John Burgess Elisha Warfield On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written Viz.t On the 13.th Day of February 1786 Came Martha Carr before us the Subscribers two of the Justices ^for^ of Ann Arund County and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be her act and Deed & the Land and premises therein expressed to be the right and Estate of him the said Benjamin Penn of Edward his Heirs and assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the same and the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided And at the same time the said Martha Carr formerly the wife of William Ray Jun.r late of Ann Arundle County Deceased and being privately examined acknowledged her right of Dower to the said piece or parcel of Land to be the right and Estate of him the said Benjamin Penn and with all declared that she had done the same freely and Willingly without being compelled thereto by any threats or compulsory methods made use of Taken and Acknowledged before John Burgess Elish Warfield Received this 13.th day of February 1786 of Benjamin Penn of Edward the first and full sum of one hundred Pounds Sterling it being in full for the within Mentioned Land and Premises Martha Carr Witness John Burgess Elisha Warfield Recorded March the 16.th 1786 7¼ sides |
