516) Upon request make do acknowledge execute or procure to be made done and executed all and every legal act conveyance and assurance for the more perfectly conveying the said premises with the appurtenances unto the said John Sterrett his heirs and assigns forever as by him or them shall be required And lastly the said Thomas Usher doth hereby for himself and his heirs the said Premises with the appurtenances unto him the said John Sterrett his heirs and assigns against him the said Thomas Usher and his heirs and all claiming under him or them shall and will by these presents forever warrant and Defend In Witness whereof the said Thomas Usher hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year first above written Signed sealed and Delivered in the Presence of Thomas Usher (seal) R Ridgely Jn.o Johnston On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written Viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within named John Sterrett the sum of Nine thousand four hundred and eleven pounds five shillings sterling in full of the Consideration Money within expressed to be paid by him to me Witness Thomas Usher R Ridgely Jn.o Johnston County of Baltimore to wit On the twenty eighth day June 1785 Came before us the Subscribers two Justices Assigned to keep the peace for the County aforesaid the within named Thomas Usher who acknowledged the within Instrument to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and premises therein mentioned to be the Right Title and Estate of the Within Named John Sterrett his heirs and assigns forever at the same time came Catherine the wife of the said Thomas Usher who being by us privately Examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband relinquished all her right of Dower to the within Lands and premises and declared that she did the same Voluntarily without being induced thereto by fear of or threats of ill usage from her said Husband through fear of his Displeasure Acknowledged Before Geo Gold Presbury Tho.s Elliott Baltimore County to wit 13 sides I hereby certify that George Gould Presbury and Thomas Elliott before whom the above acknowledgments were made and who have thereto subscribed their named were at the day of the date thereof and still are two Justices of Peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them given as such due faith and credit and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal of my office this twenty fifth day of July (seal) Seventeen hundred and Eighty five William Gibson Cl B Cot.y Recorded February the 27.th 1786 |
