489 The said Land and premises from and against himself and his heirs and all and every person claiming anything therein by from and under him them and ^or^ any of them will warrant and by these presents will ever Defend In Witness whereof the said Edward Dorsey hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Edw.d Dorsey son of John (seal) Delivered in the presence of us Tho.s Todd Jn.o E Gist On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed to wit On the eighth day of February 1786 Received of the within named John Eager Howard the sum of Three Thousand two hundred and thirty ^eight^ pounds seventeen shillings and six pence Current Money being the Consideration within mentioned Witness Edw.d Dorsey of John Tho.s Todd Jn.o E Gist Baltimore County to wit On the eighth day of February 1786 came before us the subscribers two Justices assigned to keep the peace for the County aforesaid the within Named Edward Dorsey and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof at same time came Betty Dorsey wife to the said Edward Dorsey who being by us privately Examined Examined apart and from the hearing of her said Husband relinquished all her right of Dower to the within Land and premises and declared that she made this her acknowledgement freely and voluntarily without being induced thereto by fear of or threats of Ill usage from her said Husband or thro fear of his displeasure Peter Shepherd Baltimore County to wit Tho.s Todd I hereby Certify that Peter Shepherd and Thomas Todd Gentlemen before whom the within acknowledgment was made and who have thereto subscribed their names were at the time of taking and signing thereof two Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them Given as such due faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and County Seal of my office this Ninth day of February Seventeen seal hundred and Eighty six William Gibson Cl B Cot.y 10 sides Recorded February 15.th 1786 This Indenture the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between Charles Ridgely son of John of Baltimore County Gentleman of the one part and Thomas Dorsey John Dorsey and Samuel Chase Gentlemen of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Ridgely for and in consideration of the payment of the Rent and performance (of) |
