485) On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed to wit Received the day and Year within Written of and from the therein named Edward Dorsey son of John the sum of one thousand Pounds Sterling Money being the consideration therein Mentioned to be paid me Witness Vachel Dorsey J E Howard Baltimore County to wit On the twelfth day of September 1785 came before us the Subscribers Two Justices Assigned to keep the peace for the County aforesaid the within Name Vachel Dorsey and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and all his right Title and Estate to be the property and Interest of the within Named Edward Dorsey his heirs and assigns forever at the same time came Ruth the Wife of the said Vachel Dorsey who being by us privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband relinquished all her right of dower of in and to the said Lands and Premises to the said Edward Dorsey his heirs and assigns for ever and acknowledged that she did the same freely and voluntarily of her own will without the controul or through fear of or threats of her said Husband Acknowledged Before J E Howard Peter Shepherd Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that John Eager Howard and Peter Shepherd Gentlemen before whom the acknowledgement was taken and who have thereto Subscribed their names were at the day of the date thereof and still are two Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all certificates by them given as such due faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimoney whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal of my County seal Office this fourteenth day of October Seventeen hundred and Eighty five 9½ sides William Gibson Cl B County Recorded February the 9.th 1786 This Indenture made this 29.th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between Thomas Beall of Sam.l of Washington County State of Maryland of the one part and William Campbell of Annerundel County and State aforesaid of the other Witnesseth that the said Thomas Beall of Sam.l for and in consideration of the sum of Ten pounds Currency to him in hand paid by the said William Campbell the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and hereof and therefrom and of and from every part and parcel thereof doth release (acquit) |
