483) hereby granted bargained and Sold or intended so to be and premises with the appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to him the said James West his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said James West his Heirs and assigns forever Provided always and these presents are upon this Condition that if the said Henry May his Heirs Executors Administrators or assigns shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said James West his Heirs Executors Administrators or assigns the aforesaid Sum of Twelve hundred Pounds Current Money with Legal Interest thereon at or before sixteenth day of March which well be in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty five without fraud or Deduction then this present Indenture and every Matter clause article and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly Void all Intents and purposes whatsoever and anything herein Contained to the contrary thereof in anywise Notwithstanding Now this Indenture Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred Pounds Current Money with Legal Interest thereon to him the said James West in hand Paid by the said Henry May the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for divers other good causes and considerations him hitherto moving the said James West hath remised released and for ever Quitted claim and by these presents for himself and his Heirs doth fully clearly and absolutely remise release and for ever quit claim unto the said Henry May of in and to the within mentioned parcel of Land called Bessington together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging and of in and to the within mentioned Negroes Goods and Chattels all such Right Estate Title Interest and Demand whatsoever as he the said James West had or ought to have by virtue of the within mentioned Indenture or by any other ways and means whatsoever To have and to hold all the said part of a Tract or parcel of Land with the appurtenances and the said Negroes goods and chattels unto the said Henry may his heirs and assigns to the only use and behoof of the said Henry May his heirs and assigns forever so that neither he the said James West nor his heirs nor any other person or persons for himself or them or ^in^ his or their name or in the name Right or stead of any of them shall or will by any ways or means hereafter have claim challenge or demand any Estate right Title or Interest of in or to the said Premises or any part or parcel thereof but from all and every action right Estate Title Interest or demand of in or to the said Premises or any part thereof they and every of them shall be utterly excluded and barred for ever by these presents In Witness whereof the Parties have hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year first mentioned Signed Sealed and Delivered in presence of James West (seal) A C Hanson On the back of the aforegoing Instrument of Writing was thus Endorsed to wit Maryland On the second Day of February Seventeen hundred and Eighty six James West came before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court and acknowledged the above Instrument to be his Act and Deed 10¾ sides Recorded February the 2.d 1786 A C Hanson |
