482 This Indenture made this second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six Between James West of the City of Annapolis in Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland on the one part and Henry May of the County and State aforesaid on the other part Whereas by an Indenture bearing Date the tenth day of November in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty four Between Henry May of Ann Arundel County in the State of Maryland of the one part and James West of the City of Annapolis in the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry May for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve hundred Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said James West before the enseling and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefrom acquit and discharge the said James West his Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents Hath given granted bargained Sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth give grant bargain alien release enfeoff and confirm unto him the said James West his heirs and assigns all that part of a Tract or parcel of Land called Bessington lying and being in Anne Arundel County aforesaid formerly purchased by the said Henry May from Samuel Watkins and Robert Smith and whereon the said Henry May now liveth Together with all and singular the Houses out Houses Edifices buildings Gardens Ways Water Water Courses commodities priviledges and advantages to the said Parcel of Land hereby granted Bargained and Sold or intended so to be belonging or in anywise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof and also the following Negroes Goods and chattels that is to say one negroe man named Orris one negro man named Edenborough one negro man named Simon one negroe man named Will one negro man named Page one negro Woman named Hannah one negroe Boy named Sam one negroe Girl named Margaret Three feather Beds and furniture one Desk Three Tables one chair one Gun one Bottle Case one Tea kettle and Stand Two Spinning Wheels Eleven Horses consisting of five Geldings five Mares and one Colt fourteen head of black cattle fifteen pewter plates two Dishes two Basons one pair of Steel yards two Blacksmiths Bellows two anvils one beak Iron and Stake four Hammers four pair of Tongs and a smiths Vise and also all the Estate right title Interest use Trust profit property claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Henry May of into and out of the said Part of a Tract of Land called Bessignton Negroes Goods and chattels hereby granted bargained and Sold or intended so to be with the appurtenances and of in and out of every part and parcel thereof To have and hold the said parcel of Land Negroes goods and Chattles (hereby) |
