       On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus written viz.t         Maryland
      
                            On the Twelfth day of May Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred and
       Eighty three Came Nathaniel Ramsey and Clement Hollyday Commissioners for preservation
       and Sale of Confiscated British property in the State of Maryland before ^me^ the Subscriber one of the
       Judges of the General Court and Acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Act
       and Deed  And the forge Lands Negroes Stock Utensils and premises within mentioned to be the
       right Title and Estate of the within named Thomas Russell his heirs and Assigns forever according
       to the True Intent and meaning of the Same deed And the Act of Assembly in Such Case
       made and Provided

       This Indenture made the Twenty ninth day of January in the Year of our Lord One
       Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three Between Thomas Hammond of Frederick County and
       State of Maryland (Gentleman) of the one part and Michael Pue of Ann arundel County
       and State aforesaid (Gentleman) of the Other part  Witnesseth That the Said Thomas Hammond
       for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and Seventeen Pounds Current money
       to him in hand paid by the Said Michael Pue the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge
       and himself to be fully Satisfied Contented and paid Hath granted Bargained Sold aliened
       enfeoffed and Confirmed  And by these presents Doth grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff
       and Confirm unto the Said Michael Pue his heirs and assign forever part of a Tract of Land
       Called the Resurvey on Gilboa beginning at a Stone planted at the head of Middle run it being
       One of the Boundarys of a Tract of Land called Calebs delight enlarged and running thence
       South Sixty Seven degrees West one hundred perches North fifty two degrees West Twenty
       Eight perches North forty four degrees East Two hundred and thirty two Perches South
       forty degrees East Thirty Perches then by a Straight line to the beginning Stone Containing
       Sixty seven acres more or less lying and being in Frederick County together with all
       and Singular the Premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise
       Appurtaining and the revertion and reversions remainder and remainders rents
       Issues and profits of the Said premises and of every part and parcel thereof and all
       the Estate right Title Claim and demand whatsoever of him the Said Thomas
       Hammond of in and to the Said parcel of Land with the appurtenances thereunto
       belonging and every part and parcel thereof  To have and to hold the Said
       Land and premises above mentioned and Every part and parcell thereof with the
       Appurtenances unto the Said Michael Pue his heirs and assigns forever to the
       only proper use and behoof of him the said Michael Pue his heirs and Assigns
       forever and to or for no Other use intent or purpose whatsoever  And the Said
       Thomas Hammond for himself and his heirs The Said Land and premises
