          This Indenture made this twelfth day of  November One thousand seven
       hundred and Eighty five Between John Dorsey of Baltimore County of the one
       part and Thomas Dorsey & Samuel Chase Esq.r of Ann Arundel County of the other
       Part Witnesseth whereas a Partnership was entered into and for a considerable time
       subsisted Between the said Thomas Dorsey Samuel Chase and John Dorsey and
       another Partnership was entered into Between the said John Dorsey Thomas Dorsey
       Samuel Chase & Luke Wheeler and during the aforesaid Partnership the following
       Property to wit Lands in the State of Virginia taken up by Jacob Myers in the Name
       & for the use of Samuel Chase John Dorsey and Jacob Myers as also Lands taken
       up by the said Myers in the Name & for the use of Samuel Chase and John Dorsey
       and in the Name & for the use of Samuel Chase & John Dorsey and Thomas Dorsey
       Leased from Charles Ridgely & Lease executed to Thomas Dorsey John Dorsey &
       Samuel Chase known by the name of the Cove Lands being part of Howards Timber
       Neck and also Lands purchased from Jesse Hollingsworth commonly called the
       Rope Walk and originally Leased from Charles Ridgely being part of Hamards
       Timber Neck and also a Number of Lotts in that part of Baltimore Town called
       French Town which was purchased from the State of Maryland by John Dorsey
       For the use of Samuel Chase Thomas Dorsey and John Dorsey also Negroes Joe
       Isaac & Lieth was purchased by the said Thomas Dorsey Samuel Chase and John
       Dorsey with the Money and Property of the said Partnerships and is held and
       possessed by them as Tenants in Common and whereas the said Partnerships is
       Indebted to the amount of much more then the whole Partnership Property of
       which they the said Samuel Thomas & John are seized or possessed and whereas it is
       but Just and equitable that the property of the said Partnership in preference to the private
       the payment of the Debts due from the said Partnership in preference to the private
       Debts of either f the Partners  Now This Indenture that the said John Dorsey for
       and in consideration of the sum of Five Shillings Current Money to him paid before the
       ensealing and Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge
       and in further consideration and for the purpose to secure the said property
       for the use of the creditors hath given granted bargained & sold aliened enfeoffed
       & Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant Bargain sell enfeoff and Confirm
       to the said Thomas Dorsey and Samuel Chase their heirs and assigns for ever
       all his the said John Dorseys right title or Interest either in Law or equity of in
       or to the aforesaid Lands and Negroes together with all the Debts due to the said
       John Dorsey Samuel Chase & Thomas Dorsey under the firm of John Dorsey & C.o
       and all the Debts due to John Dorsey Samuel Chase Thomas Dorsey & Luke Wheeler
       under the firm of Dorsey Wheeler & C.o and also all the debts which may be due to
       John Dorsey & C.o which stand as due to John Dorsey among which are Richard
       Ponsonby Stephen Steward Jun.r Stephen Stewart Sen.r Stephen Steward & son
       Archibald Buchanan William Holmes and Levi Ghant and also all
       the the sums of Money and Tobacco due in consequence of Purchases made by
