44 On The Back of the Aforegoing Deed was Thus wrote Viz.t Received on the day and Year within written of and from Charles Croxall Five Shillings the Consideration within mentioned Witness Hampton Round R Ridgely John McHenry County of Baltimore To wit On the Thirteenth day of December 1782 Came before us Two Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid Hampton Rownd within Named and Acknowledged the within writing as his act and deed And the Land and premises therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Charles Croxall his heirs and Assigns forever according to the True Intent and meaning thereof Peter Shepherd Acknowledged before John Moale Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that Peter Shepherd and John Moale Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgement was taken and who hath thereto Subscribed were at the day of the date thereof and Still are Two of the Justices of the Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them given as Such due faith and Credit is and Ought to be Given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony thereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Twenty (Seal) Sixth day of February Seventeen hundred and Eighty three William Gibson Clk Balt.o Coty Recorded 10.th May 1783 Ex.d This Indenture made this twelfth day of May Anno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty three Between Nathaniel Ramsey and Clement Hollyday of the City of Annapolis Commissioners for Preservation and Sale of Confiscated British Property in the State of Maryland of the One part and Thomas Russel of Cecil County Gentleman of the Other part Whereas The General Assembly of the State of Maryland by the Act Entitled "An act to make Partition between this State and Thomas Russel of Cecil County of the Property which formerly belonged to the Company denominated the Principio Company passed at a Session of Assembly held in the Month of April in the Year Seventeen hundred and Eighty Two did empower Mess.rs Archibald Job Thomas May (Iron Master) Stephen Hyland of Cecil County aforesaid or any Two of them to ascertain the value of the Forge In Cecil County which formerly belonged to the Said Principio Company and Such of the Land negroes Stock and Utensils to the Same appurtaining as the Said Thomas Russel might think necessary for Carrying on the Said Forge and whereas Archibald Job Thomas May and Stephen Hyland in pursuance of the Power vested in them by the Act aforesaid did on the Twenty fourth day of October in the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Two value the Said Forge and (Such) |
